Quite Peachy!

Everyone likes fruits right? If not there's always that one fruit that you can tolerate or even admire aesthetically. Well why not wear them? This S/S 2011 season that is the exact statement designers like Stella McCartney and Prada are making. The source of this inspiration is not the fruit itself, but fashion icons like Anna Della Russo and Josephine Baker from the twenties.

Check out some juicy pieces below!

 Prada Banana Printed Shirt

And of course accessories!

The Tale of a Fairy

If you are familiar with Karl Lagerfeld's short fashion films, then you probably already know that his new 30-minute film, The Tale of a Fairy premiers tonight at 9pm on Chanel.com

Lagerfeld describes the film as “...a movie about an ill-advised use of money which begins with violence and ends with feeling,”. Okayy. Can't wait to see this highly anticipated film tonight, he never disappoints.

And be sure to watch my all time favorite Lagerfeld short film Remember Now Chanel- Party at Saint Tropez here.

Sheer Thoughts

I've been stumbling over a recent cocktail hour fad that will undoubtedly catch craze this summer! Yes yes, sheer, lace or even see-through LBD's. I stumbled upon a few stars, that have recently been spotted supporting the trend.

A GAP in Sales

I will be polite, because I know everyone is going through tough times, but I am in no way shape or form a GAP customer, or fan for that matter. They're notorious for their fit-to-shape denim and pricey, PRICEY basics. I will go as far to say that I don't even think they have diverse SS and AW seasons (its the same story every year, knit sweater and sundress).

They began to throw their business under the bus when they decided to make the barely noticeable, but ironically controversial change in logo, that they've had for years.. you know from inside the blue box, to next to the blue box. But of course social media outlets gutted them, and they'll do it again this time around!

Today Patrick Robinson, the creative director at Gap, was fired. Apparently he wasn't bringing enough sales/customers back to the brand with his neutral color pallet for SS2011. HELLO!! He was following the runway trend seen in many mainstream designer's shows this season.

Gap, you cannot be saved.. like I said on twitter, Old Navy's next..

Enjoy.

She Opens Up !!

Little by little you guys will discover who my top Fashion Icons are, and June's Vanity Fair cover-girl Katy Perry is another one of them! I love how she takes risks and overly accessorizes, it almost reminds me of playing dress up in my mom's closet as a child. On the cover she looks gorgeous with her 1930s pin up inspired look.

Vanity Fair is well-known for their sophisticated articles and, society "in" crowd event coverage, but most importantly I find them to be one of the only mainstream magazines that really delve into their cover stories.
Katy Perry really opens up on her restrictions as a child, and how she eventually evolved into her own identity (selling millions of #1 singles now of course). She believes that “... sometimes when children grow up, their parents grow up,” which has lead her parents to accept her and her recent success.

Click here to read the full article, and don't forget to snatch a copy, to see flicks from Katy's Vanity Fair photoshoot with the amazing photographer Annie Leibovitz !!

Enjoy.

C'mon Elle !!

So this past week has been a crazy one in all aspects of society. However, I would like to share with you guys what happened to me today when I picked a second copy of Elle Magazine's Music Issue, with one of my other fashion icon's Gwen Stefani on the cover.

I've never experienced this, but.. Elle Magazine has put out two versions of the same magazine.. but different cover.. am I behind!? Is this old news!?

Two weeks ago I picked up this copy in a local grocery store.

And this one this afternoon. Same contents. Different cover.

Fool me once Elle...
